Points to note when applying for the MYLINE service

Personal information policy

Personal information submitted by customers when applying for the MYLINE service shall be used exclusively for verifying customer identity; managing customer credit limits; implementing telecommunications service (for the purpose of this policy, “implementing telecommunications services” includes commencement of telecommunications service; providing maintenance and repair service; and completing procedures to change the contents of telecommunications service or service area, or suspend or terminate the service); calculating and charging telecommunications service fees; contacting customers for any of the abovementioned purposes; taking action necessary to perform obligations under the terms and conditions of the service contract; offering information, proposals, and consultations concerning telecommunications and other related services; taking measures to improve the quality of telecommunications service and enhance customer satisfaction (including implementing a questionnaire); planning and developing new telecommunications and other related services; managing and enhancing facilities necessary to provide telecommunications and other related services; and performing tasks relating to telecommunications service of NTT East or NTT West (for the purpose of this policy, the expression “NTT East or NTT West” means either NTT East or NTT West to which the respective customers subscribe). It should be understood that personal information may be used after termination of the telecommunications or other related service contract for any of the purposes mentioned above.

NTT East or NTT West may disclose personal information submitted by customers when applying for the service to its contractors pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Law, and also to third parties to the extent permitted by the terms and conditions of the service contract, the Personal Information Protection Law, the Telecommunications Business Law and other applicable laws and ordinances.

To ensure convenience of customers who are to move from the telecommunications service area of NTT East to that of NTT West or vice versa, NTT East and NTT West shall share personal information of such customers to the extent necessary to complete procedures to change service area and offer telecommunications service and charge service fees after the move.

Other matters to note

  1. The MYLINE and MYLINE PLUS services are offered by NTT East and NTT West.

  2. Please be informed that NTT East or NTT West will provide your registered telephone company with the information you submit when applying for the MYLINE or MYLINE PLUS service and when terminating the service. The information to be provided to the registered telephone company is as shown below.

  3. Upon completion of your MYLINE or MYLINE PLUS registration, a pamphlet titled “Guide to MYLINE Registration” will be mailed to you at the billing address of NTT East or NTT West.

  4. Please note that you may be contacted about your application for the service.

  5. Until you receive the “Guide to MYLINE Registration” from MYLINE Center, you are required to dial the “access code of your telephone company”* in front of the telephone number in order to use the call service.

    *If you have registered a telephone company on the MYLINE PLUS service but want to use another telephone company to make a call, dial “122” in front of the access code of the telephone company you wish to use in order to temporarily deactivate your registration.


  6. If you are changing your telephone company by registering on the MYLINE or MYLINE PLUS service, please note the following:


    (1) After commencement of the MYLINE or MYLINE PLUS service, you may no longer be entitled to the discount service or credit card-billed call-charge discount service available to you before changing the telephone company. You should be especially cautious if you have used a discount service based on a flat monthly fee.

    (2) Please note that applying for the MYLINE or MYLINE PLUS service does not automatically cancel the ongoing discount service. To cancel the service, you need to contact the telephone company that offers the service. For details, inquire at the telephone company.
