FAQ

Q1:
Why is MYLINE being terminated?
A1:
The MYLINE service will be terminated in January 2024 when NTT East and NTT West, providers of landline telephone service (subscription phone & INS-Net), transition to an IP network.
After the transition to the IP network, landline telephone charges will be made uniform nationwide due to the fact that the IP network operates independent of distance, eliminating the need for differences in charges.
For this reason, NTT East and NTT West have indicated that they will no longer offer a system (MYLINE) that allows customers to pre-select a service provider based on distance categories such as local, in-prefecture long-distance, and out-of-prefecture long-distance calls.
Corporate customers who wish to continue to select their own service provider may select calling services provided by SoftBank or KDDI.
Additionally, if you dial the telephone company access code (00XY) after MYLINE has been terminated, you will be able to continue using the calling service of that telephone company.
Please check with your telephone company for more information.
Q2:
When will MYLINE be terminated?
A2:
The MYLINE service will be terminated when NTT East and NTT West, providers of landline telephone service (subscription phone & INS-Net), transition to an IP network in January 2024.
Information on a specific transition date will be announced separately.
Q3:
When will calling service be transferred?
A3:
When NTT East and NTT West, providers of landline telephone service (subscription phone & INS-Net), transition to an IP network in January 2024, your calling service will be transferred to a transition destination company.
Information on a specific transition date will be announced separately.
Q4:
Why is my service being transferred to NTT East (West)?
A4:
As the MYLINE service is being terminated in January 2024, with the exception of some customers* calling service will be provided by NTT East (or West).
Please note that you can continue to use the calling service of another telephone company by dialing the telephone company access code (00XY) before the phone number when making a call.
Please check with your telephone company for more information.

*Some customers: Corporate customers whose registered call categories are all unified with SoftBank Corp. or KDDI Corporation.

Q5:
How is the transition destination company decided?
A5:

The transition destination will be decided based on the customer’s MYLINE registration status as of the end of June 2023.
Specifically, for corporate customers who have unified all four categories of calls – local, in-prefecture long-distance, out-of-prefecture long-distance, and international – with SoftBank Corp. or KDDI Corporation, or corporate customers who have unified all three categories of domestic calls with SoftBank Corp. or KDDI Corporation but do not have international calls registered, they will transition to the calling service of the service provider with which they are registered.
Other customers will be transferred to NTT East (or West) calling service.
