MYLINE Announces End of Free Application/Change Period
and Current Status of Registrations

MYLINE Carriers Association

Till now, there has been no charge for registration and changes to MYLINE Carrier Selection Service, which began service on Tuesday, May 1. However, this free period will end on Wednesday, October 31, 2001. A fee of ¥800 per line (not including tax) will be charged per telephone number on all applications (for registration and changes) received beginning Thursday, November 1 of this year.

Telephone users who have not yet completed registration procedures are urged to apply as soon as possible. This is because applications (for registration and changes) for MYLINE services received by the MYLINE Center or the telephone companies through Wednesday, October 31, will still be free of charge.

The time from registration processing to the start of the customer's MYLINE services may well take longer because of the heavy volume of applications expected before the end of the free period. We sincerely request our customers' understanding for any inconvenience if there are delays in processing.

Notice to Customers Who Apply Beginning November

  • Beginning November, those customers who apply for MYLINE services will be charged a MYLINE Registration Fee of ¥800 (not including tax) per application for each telephone number. If multiple applications are made for one telephone number, a MYLINE Registration Fee will be charged for each application.

  • A MYLINE Registration Fee will be charged for each registration or change in each of the four calling categories.

  • A MYLINE Registration Fee will be charged for each switch in registration category (from MYLINE to MYLINE PLUS or visa-versa).

  • Bills for registration fees will be included with bills from NTT East or NTT West.

  • Bills for calls dialed will come from the telephone company used by the customer. Bills for monthly basic telephone charges will come as usual from NTT East or NTT West.

Customers Whose Registration Processing Has Not Yet Been Completed

Customers who applied but have not yet been notified that their MYLINE registration has been completed are requested to first dial the telephone company's access code when they want to use the telephone company/companies they selected in their applications. This dialing procedure will be only temporary until their MYLINE services begin.

  • To make a domestic call, the dialing order is:
00XY (the access code of the telephone company you want to use) + area code
+ city prefix + subscriber number (the last four digits)

  • To make an international call, the dialing order is:
00XY (the access code of the telephone company you want to use) + 010 + country code
+ domestic telephone number (this usually consists of area code + telephone number)

    * Customers whose MYLINE registration processing procedures have been completed will be notified by post card at a later date (see the pamphlet "Guide to MYLINE Registration").

When users who have not applied for MYLINE registration and customers whose registration has not yet been completed dial without prefixing the telephone company's access code, their local calls and in-prefecture long-distance calls (long-distance calls within the same prefecture) are carried via NTT East or NTT West, and their out-of-prefecture long-distance calls (long-distance calls to different prefectures) are carried via NTT Communications.

  1. If you use ACR, you are connected to the telephone company as usual.

  2. 2. If you do not use ACR, your local calls and in-prefecture long-distance are carried via NTT East or NTT West, and your out-of-prefecture long-distance calls are carried via NTT Communications.
