MYLINE Announces End of Free Application/Change Period
and Current Status of Registrations

MYLINE Carriers Association

Wednesday, October 31, 2001, marked the end of the free period for applications (including new registration and changes) for MYLINE services, which began operation on Tuesday, May 1. At present, application processing is running at a normal schedule, from reception of applications to the completion of registration.

An Announcement Regarding New Applications for Those Customers Who are
Applying to MYLINE after November 1, 2001

A fee of ¥800 per line (tax not included) will be charged per telephone number for each application (registration and changes) from November 1. For example, when a customer fills out one application per calling category for a single telephone number (and thus submits multiple applications), please note that the MYLINE Registration Fee will be charged for each application form. In addition, the MYLINE Registration Fee will be charged when a customer makes a switch from MYLINE service to MYLINE PLUS and vice-versa.

Bills for MYLINE Registration Fees will be included with bills from NTT East or NTT West. Bills for calls dialed will come from the telephone companies used by the customer.

Customers Whose Registration Processing Has Not Yet Been Completed

Customers who applied but have not yet been notified that their MYLINE registration has been completed are requested to first dial the telephone company's access code when they want to use the telephone company/companies they selected in their applications. This dialing procedure will be only temporary until their MYLINE services begin.

  • To make a domestic call, the dialing order is:
00XY (the access code of the telephone company you want to use) + area code
+ city prefix + subscriber number (the last four digits)

  • To make an international call, the dialing order is:
00XY (the access code of the telephone company you want to use) + 010 + country code
+ local telephone number (this usually consists of area code + telephone number)

    * Customers whose MYLINE registration processing procedures have been completed will be notified by post card titled, "Guide to MYLINE Registration".

When users who have not applied for MYLINE registration and customers whose registration has not yet been completed dial without prefixing a telephone company's access code, their calls will be handled in one of two ways:

  1. If their telephone uses ACR, they will be connected via the telephone company they have been using.

  2. If their telephone does not use ACR, their local calls and in-prefecture long-distance calls (long-distance calls within the same prefecture) will be carried via NTT East or NTT West, and their out-of-prefecture long-distance calls (long-distance calls to different prefectures) will be carried via NTT Communications.
