ANNOUNCEMENT OF CHANGES IN CERTAIN MYLINE PLUS FUNCTIONS
- Voice Prompts to Guide Customers When Access Code of
Unregistered Telephone Company Is Dialed -
MYLINE Carriers Association
MYLINE Carriers Association, the association of providers of MYLINE services, which began operation on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, is pleased to announce that there will be changes in certain MYLINE PLUS functions.
MYLINE PLUS customers are automatically connected to a telephone company they have registered with MYLINE PLUS, even when they directly dial the access code of a telephone company they haven't registered with MYLINE PLUS or when they use ACR to try to connect to an unregistered telephone company. Up till now, customers have heard a series of short beeps, which notify them that they are being connected to a telephone company registered with MYLINE PLUS. Beginning in May 2002, however, voice prompts (* Japanese) will announce that the customer is being connected to a telephone company registered with MYLINE PLUS. (**)
Please refer to Attachments 1 for the details of the schedule for the beginning of voice prompt services by MYLINE member telephone companies.
Customers will be able to keep on using their present telephone equipment without any changes.
In a separate development, Equant Japan Co., Ltd. will terminate its provision of MYLINE services as of Tuesday, April 30, 2002, as indicated in its press release dated Friday, March 29. Beginning Tuesday, May 1 as a result, customers will be able to register for MYLINE services only with the 13 telephone companies listed in Attachment 2.
** WorldCom Japan will begin voice prompts in end of September.
